How to Make a Sponge Sponge Cake recipe

Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons water 1 cup milk (non-dairy or vegetable) 1 egg 1/3 cup (1 stick) unsalted oil, melted 2 cups sugar 2 tablespoons melted butter Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cake pan with parchment paper or silicon baking mats.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and butter.

Add the milk and whisk until just combined.

In another bowl, combine the egg, oil, and sugar.

Add butter and whisk to combine.

Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix thoroughly.
