Nintendo has its hands on another Nintendo trademark

Nintendo has registered a trademark for “SpongeBob SquarePants” for a variety of different products, including video games, toys, and video game systems.

That trademark was filed in August.

The company didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

The trademark was likely filed for Nintendo’s “Super Mario” series of games, which are based on the animated series of the same name.

SpongeBobs first appeared on a video game cartridge in 1985, but the first SpongeBob SquarePlaces appeared in 1993.

Nintendo also has trademarks for SpongeBob plush dolls, SpongeBob figurines, SpongeBobs plush toys, Spongebob t-shirts, and SpongeBob video games.
