Spongey face fish? Could be Sponge?

The sponges are so popular they’re now part of the Sponge character’s name.

In a recent interview with The Huffington Post Australia, the Sponge’s creator, John Oliver, claimed the sponge face fish was a reference to the character’s “gimmick” appearance.

“I’m a sponge,” Oliver said.

“I’m like Sponge, I’m all about fun.

But Spongey face is an amalgam of Sponge, Sponge, and Sponges face, and I like that.

So I’ve kind of stuck with that name.”

I think it’s fun, it’s a bit like Sponge and Sponge, you know, Spongey, Spongeface.

“Oliver is just one of many people who have been spotted on the popular internet series SpongeBob SquarePants in a sponging pose, and the character has made appearances on SpongeBob-themed TV shows and in merchandise.

The Sponge character, a British boy named Peter Sponge, is an online hit and has been featured on Spongebob SquarePant, the Cartoon Network’s animated series which aired from 1999 to 2003.

He has been a part of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob spinoff series, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, which aired in 2007.
