With her first birthday nearly a year away, Emma is planning a special treat.
The little girl has a gift to give and it’s a sponge cake, made from her own sponge.
“We are looking forward to getting it out to her for her birthday on the 11th,” Emma’s mother, Rebecca, said.
The cake is part of a series of gifts Emma has received from her family and friends.
The sponge cake has been a tradition for Emma since she was a toddler.
“I remember my mum and dad going to the market and I would get one from the cake stand, which was a lovely surprise,” Emma said.
“It was always a great tradition to see all the family, and they would always come up to the table and give the sponge cake to the little girl.”
Now, Emma’s family is planning her first ever birthday bash.
“To be able to share this with her so soon, it’s just such a wonderful experience,” Emma told the ABC.
“Her birthday is going to be so special for her, and her family.”
The family is hosting a birthday party at the home where Emma lives in Brisbane, with a cake, balloon and balloon accessories for Emma to decorate.
